Born in Kaiserslautern, Germany to an Army family, Pastor James has roots in the mid-west but grew up in Fayetteville, NC. James has traveled to thirty six different countries, preaching on four continents. He has been married to Cindy for over forty years and they have three sons and four grandchildren.
He was ordained into the ministry at the age of 33 after years in retail management. After returning to school at the University of South Carolina, he completed his Master and Doctor of Theology at Andersonville Theological Seminary and the Seminary Extension of the Southern Baptist Convention.
He is the former pastor of Union Baptist Church of Marion County and served for five years as the Director of Missions for the Pee Dee Baptist Association in Dillon and Marlboro Counties. He has been at Pyerian Baptist Church since 2006. He has done extensive mission work in Cuba and Central America and speaks Spanish and works with the local Latino congregation in Latta, SC. He currently works with the Dillon County Christian Ministers Alliance and the Empowerment In Action Association helping the people of Dillon County see the need for Jesus in every aspect of life.
